Alexander biography
Ivy M. Alexander, PhD, APRN, ANP-BC, FAAN, is professor of Nursing at Yale University School of Nursing and Midlife Women’s Health Consultant and Nurse Practitioner at Yale Health. Her clinical, scholarly, and research interests are in Midlife Women's Health Care.

She has worked extensively with menopause and osteoporosis management, and she has published and presented widely regarding these subject areas, including two books, which have been translated into Spanish, Greek, and Italian. She has been principle investigator on studies evaluating women's relationships with their primary care providers; black women’s perceptions of menopause, midlife health risks, and self-management techniques used to manage menopause symptoms and reduce health risks; and osteoporosis risks and management.

She has consulted for national and international companies such as Athena Medical Products, Medscape, Wyeth-Ayerst, Duramed Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Roche, Venus Medical Communications, Amgen, and Datamonitor.

The Yale African-American Affinity group invites you to register now to attend a Speaker Series event featuring Donna Brazile  -- speak at the Yale African-American Affinity group eve-- American author, professor, and political analyst affiliated with the Democratic Party. Brazile was the first African American to direct a major presidential campaign, for Al Gore in 2000. Brazile briefly served as interim Chair of the Democratic National Committee in thespring of 2011.

This half-day program is designed for individuals who are charged with making/facilitating decisions in a group context.  A decision making spectrum (possible methods of making decisions) is reviewed and coupled with Victor Vroom's work on decision making.  

Participants who have completed this program will know how to select the appropriate decision-making approach given the circumstances that surround the decision that needs to be made.
