The Yale University Police Department is once again hosting its Citizens Police Academy which is free of charge and runs March 20-April 24. Open to the Yale and New Haven community, it aims to raise awareness of police operations and responsibilities.
Participants learn about topics ranging from investigative services to patrol procedures; personal safety; Eli, the bomb detection dog; state-of-the-art communications/technology; emergency preparedness; and firearms training. The course incorporates classroom training and hands-on activities.
